Typical charges for wedding cakes vary but most cake prices start at
$3.00 per serving.  Icing or gum paste flowers are extra and must be
custom priced.  I usually recommend using real or silk flowers to match the
bridal bouquet.  There are no rules when it comes to designing your
wedding cake!  Whether your cake is elaborate or simple, choose a cake
that truly reflects your style.

Let's get together to design your dream wedding cake!
(1)  First, call me and order a planning guide or fill out our online planning guide. We are often booked 6
months to a year in advance.
We charge a 75.00 non-refundable  deposit. This deposit serves as a down
payment to reserve your date on our wedding calender and gives you 2 hours of professional planning and
design time for your wedding cake and reception needs. You may taste samples of some of our cakes at this
time, or you may arrange to take samples home before or after the consultation. Custom cake samples may
be ordered in advance for 15.00 per box of 8 cake flavors. Three icings will be provided with the samples.
(The 75.00 consultation fee is considered a down payment on the total cost of your cake. ) If you have
not already paid the full  deposit, please be prepared to pay the balance of your deposit before the
consultation.
If you are still unsure, you may take a copy of your planning guide with you and call us later with
your payment when you decide to proceed.

(2) It is important that you schedule this appointment to discuss design, delivery, flavors, setup and prices.
Your consultation will last approximately 1 to 2 hours. During the consultation, see our wedding cake
photos, share your ideas with us and taste samples of our cakes.
( If you prefer, you may come by the store
and place an order for the cakes that you would like to taste.)
Many brides like to take them home to make
the decisions with friends or family members. I will be happy to help you choose fillings and frostings to
compliment the flavors you have chosen.
 I need at least 5 business days notice to fill a custom cake sample
order.
Please feel free to bring magazines, sketches and photos of cakes that you like. You may also send
pictures or ideas to my e-mail address. I prefer you send them as a .jpg file.  We will be glad to discuss
expectations and work with you to create a realistic plan for your personally crafted cake. Be prepared to
address special dietary needs such as nut allergies, lactose-free, sugar-free, strawberry allergies, no berries,
no coconut, kosher, etc.  Side cakes may also be discussed at your consultation.

(3) We might also require a
refundable deposit on any of our cake equipment. This will also be discussed
at your consultation. I will issue a refund check within 10 business days for equipment returns.  

(4) Delivery charges will be 2.50 per mile up to 50 miles.

(5) Delivery times should be set up at least three weeks before the wedding.
(6) Out of state, weddings will require special pricing to cover travel and  expenses.

(7) I
do not rent my cake stands, but will let you use mine (no charge) if we cut and serve your cake. We
will cut and serve your cake for you, at a cost of 1.50 per guest. If we provide plates, forks and napkins, the
charge will be 2.50 per guest.

(8) We provide a box for the anniversary tier, and glassine cake bags for your guests to take a slice home in.
(Boxes may also be provided at an additional cost.) We can discuss these in more detail at your consultation.

(9) If silk flowers are provided by you, they must be brought to the bakery within 30 days before the
wedding. If your florist will be providing the flowers, I must have them and any cake ornaments at least 24
hours before the wedding. We can not deliver your cake without the flowers.
(9 a) If silk or real flowers are to be provided by me, I must have color swatches or samples to match your
reception decor. An extra charge will be applied for this service and your flowers.

(10) Payment for your wedding cake must be finalized within 30 days of
the final date or your date may not be held. We reserve the calender for our couples on a first come first
serve basis.

(11) Additional, in person, consultations for major changes to your contract may be arranged at a cost of
15.00 per hour. To help you avoid additional charges I will answer any additional questions by e-mail free
of charge.

(12) When your consultation is complete, you will be asked to verify your order information and event
details and then to review and sign your cake contract.
After finalizing your contract, any major changes
may reflect additional costs that must be paid for in full 30 days prior to your event.

I reserve the right to make changes to these guidelines, and will always strive to make
your event extraordinary.
I can supply references and letters of recommendation.
A few points to consider;
"You get what you pay for."Select a bakery that has
references, and look at their work. Do they have a passion for the craft? What do other
couples say about the cakes design and taste.
"Anything worth doing, is worth doing well." What about service? Is the cake fresh or
has it been frozen? Is it custom made? How many flavors can they offer. Is it delicious?
Is your baker qualified to fulfil your wishes?
"If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is." If a baker is too inexpensive, you might
be O.K.  Chances are, however, that you might be disappointed on one of the most
important days in your life.
Take care to get the best that your budget will allow.
I accept payments toward your
wedding cakes and parties, which helps if you have a tight budget and need to make
payments each month. I am happy to work with you.
However, do not expect an
elegant, high end, special occasion cake for 100.00. Baking is tedious, heavy, work,
and requires experience and patience. Cake design and decorating require knowledge,
experience, skill, and artistic talent. Do your research and know what prices to expect
for wedding cakes, and other services in your hometown.
An experienced baker or caterer is worth every dollar!
